Support the gut and power the brain...

Has is ever crossed your mind that what you put into your mouth eventually becomes a part of your body? Think about it, where does our body get the nutrients and vitamins that it needs to continue to function each day? From what we eat of course! So, if we eat pre-packaged food that has a long list of ingredients that we can’t pronounce, does it ever make you wonder what kind of nutrients your body can absorb from this?

There is actually a direct connection between the gut and brain called the vagus nerve, so really what we are eating and supporting our body with has a very direct connection to the brain and how it functions.

This precious nerve that we call the vagus nerve is the communication to the brain and back by sending the impulses of how you are feeling. If we eat junk food, we feel like junk. So the gut feelings that you may have are very real!

The vagus nerve can help prevent inflammation also. But if we aren’t feeding our body the correct nutrients our gut won’t have the ability to properly absorb our food and has the potential to damage the connection it has from the brain to the gastrointestinal tract. We then leave the communication between the two diminished and reduce the function of the brain to properly process the key components for daily function.

Until next time…….stay healthy! Support your gut and power your brain.
